The M.P.A.W.450 is the Multiple Purpose Assault Weapon and is standard issue assault rifle to all the BioSystems soldiers, with either a reflex sight or a 1.5 to 3.5 zoom tactical scope and a laser sight or flashlight on the end. It can be optimized with several types of ammunition including; knockout darts, armor piercing rounds, incendiary rounds and a grenade launcher which can fire explosive, teargas, smoke, flashbang, EMP or sonic grenades, its sort of like a cross between the real life FAMAS, the SC20K from Splinter Cell (bullpup configuration=sweet) and the S.C.A.R. from CRYSIS (AWESOMEST GAME LIKE, EVER1!!1!1) only futurey-er. Kroze carries a modified one around with a bunch of tactical attachments.

Then there's the LSA68 and MLSA19 or Light Semi Auto 2668 and Modified Light Semi Auto 2719, a standard 9mm pistol used by basically everyone and its modified 7mm counterpart, both have silencer and laser sight attachments. The latter was invented by the empowered.

The Hemsly 1401 .65 cal machine gun has been around since the 2500's and is still used. It is called the "Blanka" because of the noise it makes when fired (it sounds like the BAR from CoD:FH).

The Klinton20 assault rifle is left over from the last war and is overused despite its age.

Edit: the APAW or all-purpose-assault-weapon is basically a handle that can be customised with dozens of different stocks, clips of different ammo types/sizes and capacities from .50 sniper APR to 8 guage shotgun. basically its every weapon in one.

The man had his MPAW so close to my face that it might as well have been shoved up my nose. And I could not afford a third nostril, not after I came so far...
His squad members, all 13 or 14 of them were all within three or four yards of me, one grenade could take them all out... but that wasn't an option for me now.
One of the men, a big one, shoved Mia over onto the ground next to me where she lay, breathing heavily.
"Unconscious, one of our shockers must've clipped her, I noticed she was breathing when I checked." He said, it sounded like he had recently sandpapered his throat.
"Good, now as for you," he motioned me "give me your weapons."
Fuck, I thought but I started to do as he told. I took out my MLSA's one at a time and showed him they were empty then moved onto my Mac30's and dropped them all on the floor next to my rifle. The man pulled the slide back to him centered his weapon on my face and started to squeeze the trigger.
"No, wait! I can't fucking take it anymore! Don't fire!" said the shorter soldier on his left. He fumbled with his facemask and helmet and tore them off revealing a small face with dark curls obscuring the top half.
The whole squad of soldiers and I looked at him.
"Castillo, I don't even know why the hell you're in this goddamn army and now you're trying to lead it. What the hell?"
"I joined the army to protect my family and I didn't even end up doing that. If I can save one more life it'll be worth dying." He walked across the floor to where I stood and turned to face the rest of them who stood silent. "Fine then you can die too, but first, I meant all your weapons. The sword too."
My last defense, gone already? Not likely. But I went along with him and slipped it from its sheath, grabbing the tip as it slid over my fingers. I held it out to him, hilt first. He reached out to grab it and...
"Just kidding." I whispered.
I flipped my sword at the same time as I lifted it up to slash at the man behind me then brought it in a sideswipe at their leader, taking him and another in one blow.
"Wh-" he kept moving his lips but only a gurgling noise came out along with about a gallon of blood; that seems to happen to people who piss me off.
In the next swipe I shoved my sword through the eyehole of the big one's mask and twisted, his weapon dropped to the ground and his heap of a body fell on top of it. Castillo took up the rifle of the man behind us and hit a Biofuel canister next to one of the pig-rig's, which exploded into a raging inferno and took out four soldiers and several pig-rig's.
Another raised his MPAW. I shoved the flat side of my blade into the action and the bolt flipped out when the action slid forward with the first shell. I kicked him and he stumbled back reaching for his LSA, and drew it but with another quick strike it dropped to the floor along with his hand. He bled furiously and stopped moving.
The remaining three began to run; one would've made it to a door but the soldier who stood up for me fired a burst from his rifle and brought him down. I saw the second going for a loading bay door and looked up from it to the matrix of chains, wires and pulleys, following the one from the door to a chain hanging above a flaming pig-rig.
I ran up the hood, shoved my blade into the chain and, bringing my full weight to bear, broke one of the links sending the half-open, 3 ton door plummeting directly down onto the second man with a reverberating thud and crunch.
Now the final soldier, where was he? And where was this Castillo guy who had helped me?
I heard a yell and turned to see that one of the soldiers was bleeding hard from the stump of the hand that I cut off. He was hardly a danger to me so I guess I didn't notice that he was alive earlier.
But he was a danger to Mia, who in her meditative state was helpless against him and her face was pale compared to the bright, shiny blood on the LSA pressed against her cheek.

Prologue: the beginning of The End

Over 6 centuries ago, in the year 2129 A.D. the Earth began a new ice age, caused by humanity's mistakes, and the civilized world fell into chaos. Soon after, war broke out. What used to be the United States was turned into a giant nuclear crater from the Sixty Minute War. The European Union crumbled beneath the armies of the People's African Confederation in their own war, scorching the land from the source of the Nile River to the fjords of what was formerly Finland and Norway. But mankind endured. Even after 5 centuries of anarchy and 4 ½ Billion deaths they regrouped and recreated society.
In 2643 under The One Earth Treaty the New World Union became the central government to the remaining people on earth. One of the first actions of the new order was to destroy all technology from the Sixty Minute War. And so, all the energy and nuclear weapons that once almost scoured the living earth itself were destroyed.
Or so we thought.
In 2653 an ancient energy weapon was discovered on the dead, northern reaches of North America in a secret military base west of the inland Sea of Loghue. It was code-named T.R.O.G.D.O.R. (trionic reflexive omnigantrix dextroorganic refluxor) and reprogrammed in secret by a company called BioSystems Corporation. A company already under heavy scrutiny for human experimentation. That however was never pinned on them, though now we have proper evidence. Unfortunately it's too late.
Nine years later Luther Phineas President and CEO of BioSystem Corp. unveiled their accomplishments by declaring war on the New World Union. Their T.R.O.G.D.O.R. Prototype was tested first by destroying the Interworld Congressional building then the New World Union Peacekeepers HQ. Other important military and political targets were destroyed including Dry Atlantis; the capital city.
Fortunately the T.R.O.G.D.O.R. prototype still had problems and malfunctioned before all of its targets were destroyed. The city of Sol'aris in west Asia and Camp Gibraltar in North Africa were both spared from instant destruction and even now they house small pockets of resistance.
The BioSystem troops consisted of an elite force made up of roughly 70 or 80 genetically enhanced supersolidiers that their scientists had been working on for decades and 3,000 additional mercenaries and BioSystem trained soldiers. The general public and government were caught completely off guard.
But deep inside of the Northeast Former U.S., hundreds lived hidden from danger. They are the last hope for what remains of the free world they are an ancient group of the supernatural and the superhuman; vampires, angels, witches, psychics and others.
Now they fight to defeat BioSystem and prevent them from repairing the T.R.O.G.D.O.R. prototype. Some call them superheroes they call themselves; The Empowered.

there's Kroze and Nero who were both part of BioSystem's supersoldier project but realize what they're doing is wrong or something, idk yet. Kroze is a codename, he has no other name. He's an older looking guy with a chrome dome, whose code in the project was Omega 14-103 THOR and he's a heavy weapons expert sort of based on Omega from Xionic Madness, Bruce Willis, and Wallace, the general from Fire Emblem: FS. Nero (also codename only) is my own idea, the name came from the Nero series (I saw that on stickpage it's okay). His code was Delta 48-096 GEIST and he is a stealth-commando type person with a bunch of silenced shit and a crossbow (like in Van Helsing, another awesome movie) and a sword. He's sort of based on a weird combo of Sam Fisher and Xelo from Xionic madness.
Gerry is a former squadmate of Kroze who is a demo expert, his code was Omega 19-103 BOOMER (I want something more science-ful sounding than 'boomer' though) he's based on some generic boss (obviously a paladin like all the other random bosses) from fire emblem and the 'Grenade Man' from Oscar Johansson's classic by the same name (he was the blue one with the grenades, also in Tibute to Oscar part 1 and 2, he killed boomer in part 2 and almost killed etrius in part 1). He's a definite ally and has a sister who's getting an entry soon... maybe...

my book's about the Empowered, a group of super heroes in the future who fight the BioSystems Corp. INTL to stop them from taking over the world (generic alert). I draw influence from many movies, books and video games; almost every character is based on some other character. Speaking of characters here are some concepts for them;
The main character is referred to as [maincharacter] in the story so far or by [codename], also undecided. He's a former soldier who can't remember anything about his life but realizes he's got some power (ideas for power, codename and especially name are needed I'm looking for something cool sounding but still older sounding and uncommon).

Mia, codenamed Ghostwalker, is his girlfriend, who becomes pregnant later in the story (I've written an argument about this between them which you can read), she can separate from her body for some time, and occasionally see into the future. She's based on Mia from Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, and her power is sort of from Geist, (man, that game sucked balls) only much better than my opinion of Geist.

this is my first post so i'll make it breif, Im a freshman at like, the worst, boringest school ever. so im breakin the damn mold and writing a book, i oblviosly need help from people like me and would like to hear from y'all,so take a look and prepare yourselves for the first part of my book: the prolouge of help-needing-ness!
